Recognising the One God as Heavenly Mother

November 2019 and February 2018 · Two addresses, drawn together

So far, we have not fully understood God’s vision for humanity or recognised God as our Heavenly Parent.

Throughout history, people have largely understood God as a Heavenly Father, focusing on the masculine aspect of God. This understanding has influenced the development of societies in which men have often held greater authority and influence.

The two traditions of Hellenism and Hebraism, which had a major influence on Western civilisation, also developed largely within male-centred societies.

As a result, the feminine aspect of God, understood as our Heavenly Mother has often been overlooked. To fully understand God as our Heavenly Parent, we must recognise both the fatherly and motherly nature of God’s love.

Yet, neither religion nor humanity can achieve completion through the male side alone. Without welcoming Heavenly Mother through God’s daughter, there can be no salvation for humankind.

We need to deepen our understanding of God and seek to live in harmony with Him. As we grow closer to God and to one another, differences such as race and religion should no longer divide us. Instead, we can recognise our united humanity and work together as one family.
